To tilt the operating table laterally. The table attached with arm boards resembles an airplane. The request is often accompanied by a pantomime of the surgeon's hand simulating an airplane's roll.

A phrase normally uttered by an anesthesiologist to a surgeon either to legitimately plan sedation for the remainder of the case or to verbalize in subtext that the surgeon is taking an extra long time. Sometimes the circulator will ask on behalf of their office wondering when he/she will be done with surgery as to notify scheduled patients.
Usage:
Dr. Johnson, your office wants to know how much longer.
